FAQ 1 : What do the acronyms PBC and PBF mean?
The acronyms stated below are taken from the German standard DIN 18180 „Plasterboards" and mean
SGP = Standard gypsum plasterboards
FGP = Fire protection gypsum plasterboards
SGPi = Standard gypsum plasterboards, impregnated
FGPi = Fire protection gypsum plasterboards, impregnated
FAQ 2 : What is the difference between FGD gypsum and natural gypsum?
These two types of gypsum are differentiated by their respective type of raw material extraction. Natural gypsum is a sedimentary rock that has been formed in previous geological epochs due to evaporation of sea water.
FGD gypsum is generated in facilities that are referred to as flue-gas desulphurisation plants, in which a reaction between sulphate ions and calcium ions (in limestone mass) is triggered during the "limestone wet scrubbing procedure". The final product of this reaction is calcium sulphate dehydrate = GYPSUM
Both types of gypsum are equal in quality; contamination with heavy metals or radioactivity lies significantly below the values required for agricultural soils.
FAQ 3 : Construction of an F 90-B wooden joist ceiling?
There are a number of construction variants available. The substructure may be composed of CD or open box sections, but it may also be made of runners. Suspension of such a construction is also possible. In general insulation materials with a raw density of 30 kg/sqm with a thickness of 100 mm is required. Surfaces will be carried out with 1 x PBC 25 mm or PBC 12.5 mm.
FAQ 4 : F 30-B in the pitched ceiling?
According to DIN 4102 Part 4 a suspended ceiling or ceiling lining with two layers of PBC in 12.5 mm can be constructed without insulation. Inspection reports are available, according to which on layer of PBC in 12.5 mm in connection with one layer of mineral fabric insulation is also possible.
